This course is ideal if you want an all-round introduction to hairdressing.
You will be introduced to styling hair including plaiting and twisting, colouring and perming. The focus will be on helping you to develop the underpinning knowledge to pursue a career in hairdressing.
You don't need any formal qualifications to join this course. You must also have an interest in working with the public and have a high level of personal presentation.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of methods including practical assessments/ observations, written assignments, and identification tests.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
The course runs for 3 days per week over 1 Year. You are also required to complete a salon placement for a minimum of 60 hours over the duration of the course.
This course is ideal if you would like to pursue a career within the hairdressing industry.
You could progress to Level 2 Hairdressing.
