This course will look to develop your existing skills and knowledge, you will study detailed building methods and construction technology, including a range of advanced first fix and second fix operations.
You will study the theory and practical elements of complex structural roofs and stairs and how to set up and operate a wide range of fixed and transportable woodworking machines.
You should have GCSE's at grade 9-4 or above in English and Maths (or working towards them) and a relevant Level 2 Qualification and have an interest in Carpentry and Joinery.
You will progress through our selection procedure which consists of an initial assessment and admissions appointment.

Your progress will be assessed by written and practical tests within the college and a final online multiple-choice test for Principles of Pricing and Planning of Construction Work.
Maths and English are essential life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your chosen career.
If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English we will support you to improve your skills.
There will be 1 week work placement in a relevant industry setting.
