The Level 2 certificate in progression to further study in social care and health is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and skills that will support your progression on to Level 3 learning programmes within these areas.
You will gain an understanding of vocational areas and develop a range of practical and cognitive study skills. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance your Maths and English skills.
The qualification is for students who wish to:
- Prepare for level three studies
- Develop confidence in their own ability to undertake further study
- Optimise their progression to level three learning through the acquisition of a wide range of essential study skills
The part-time course will support you if you are looking to return to study and advance/change careers. Informal and supportive, it will build confidence and allow you to develop essential academic, digital and study skills for further study.
There are no formal entry requirements for students undertaking this qualification.

You will produce a portfolio of evidence and complete a range of tasks including written work, posters, group research and presentations and reports. Formative assessment throughout will support your progress and development
Maths and English are essential skills for life and study. In order to progress to our Access courses and then onto university you will need to achieve a minimum level (please check university entry requirements to confirm).
We offer adult maths and English in level 2 and GCSE, which you can study in conjunction with this programme.
This part time course will take place on a Thursday at 09:30am-12:30pm.
This course is designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills that will support their progression on to Level 3 learning programmes within courses related to Health, Humanities and Social Care studies.
Students will develop a range of practical and cognitive study skills and have the opportunity to enhance their Maths and English skills.
