Engineering apprentice, Jake Alderson has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious Made in the North East Awards.
The Level 4 Engineering Technician Apprentice was nominated for ‘Best Apprentice’, coming third against 150 nominees in his category. Jake then went on to win ‘Best Apprentice’ in his employer’s, Barrier Ex Electricals’ annual award ceremony.
Kris Archer, Skills Coach in Engineering, said: “Jake recently progressed onto his HNC and Level 4 Engineering Framework and is a keen and attentive learner with a great work ethic and enthusiastic approach to learning.”
Steven Lee, Managing Director of Barrier Ex Electrical, added: “I would go as far to say in my 20 years in business, Jake is the best apprentice I have come across. His work ethic is second to none, he always goes the extra yard for the business and his colleagues and for his customers. He is a credit to himself and the business.”
