Are you aged 19 or over and thinking about changing your career? An Access to Higher Education course may be for you

Access to Higher Education programmes are one-year courses that will allow you to access your chosen degree, or an apprenticeship. They are designed to prepare those without traditional qualifications for higher education study. You might have been out of formal education for a while or left school with few qualifications.

What do I need for an Access to Higher Education course?

All you need to enrol on an Access to Higher Education course is a grade 4/C in Maths and English. A Pre-Access course is available for those who do not have these qualifications.

Can I access financial support?

You will be given a loan that will start to be paid back when you earn over a certain amount. Some students may get financial help with their courses. For more information on repaying student loans, click here. To find out more about government funded education grants, click here.
