Northumberland College students recently provided treatments to clients at The Graduate Salon in Berwick to support animals recovering from the devastating Australian bush fires.
Raising £146 ($285 AUD) by offering manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and Shellac applications, all proceeds will be donated to Australia’s largest animal rescue organisation Wildlife Information, Rescue and Educate Service (WIRES).
Caitlin Young, a Level 2 Beauty Therapy student, said:
“I really enjoyed carrying out the treatments on clients which helped me develop my practical skills as well as raising money for a fantastic cause.
“I developed my practical skills and it gave me a great insight into working in a busy salon.”
Leanne Grethe, Lecturer in Beauty Therapy, added:
“The students demonstrated their practical skills by providing beauty treatments to a high professional standard. We had fantastic feedback from the clients.”
