What’s it all about?

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (1080)in Equine Management is a qualification aimed at providing individuals with a range of practical skills and knowledge aimed at preparing you for employment or progression into further training within the equine industry.

The recommended entry requirements are a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 4 or above (which would ideally include Maths and English), or equivalent GNVQ/BTEC qualifications.

Entry can also be gained through achieving a relevant National Certificate. Applicants will also need to undertake a practical riding assessment.

Progress is assessed by a range of methods, which include synoptic assessments, written assignments and a theory exam.

One to one progress reviews ensure that students remain motivated and continue to work to their full potential.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and or English, we will support you to improve your skills.

The course is part-time and sessions take place during the day.

You will need to successfully complete a theory exam, a synoptic assignment, a health and safety exam, work experience and a choice of 2 optional units, which can be chosen from a range of topics. Topics are both practical and theoretical.

What’s next?

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Certificate in Horse Management allows you to progress into work. You might progress into roles such as a groom, competition groom or a, riding school trainee instructor.

Educational next steps would include the Level3 Advanced Extended Diploma (720) in Equine Management.

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Certificate counts towards entry into Higher Education and a range of programmes, such as an Equine Studies Foundation Degree, a BSc (Hons) in Equine Studies or a BSc (Hons) in Sports Psychology.
