Studying at college to increase her chances of employment, Katy enjoyed the atmosphere on campus and the independence her course offered her. She is currently a support worker for Home Group.
I wanted to have good qualifications to increase my chances of employment in the future.
The support from tutors. Northumberland College provided me with an environment where I felt comfortable and the tutors always went above and beyond what I could have asked for.
They made sure to support me in achieving all the goals I set for myself.
The way in which the course was delivered. My tutors took time to get to know the learning styles of us all and catered to our needs where possible.
For example, I had delivered sessions but was also able to explore working on my own, knowing my tutor was there to support me if and when needed. The independence, as well as knowing I had my tutors’ support, helped me gain confidence within myself which I’m sure will make the transition into working life a little easier.
They were very good. I always felt safe around campus and found the atmosphere comfortable. Staff were always friendly, CCTV was on site and there were open spaces with benches where people could sit away from any traffic in the car park, which was also secure.
I have been offered a job as a support worker for Home Group.
Amazing, outstanding, memorable.
