We are so excited to welcome you back!

Thank you for your continued support over the last few months. We have been very humbled by all your kind emails, offers of donations and offers of support. We really do appreciate it.
Your visit to Northumberland college zoo may feel a little different to what you have experienced in the past.
Parking for the zoo is in the bottom car park only. This year the woodland areas, garden areas and main campus grounds are no longer part of the offer. The tickets you purchase will give you access to the zoo grounds only.
Packaged snack, crisps, hot drinks, canned and bottled cold drinks, ice cream and gifts will be available from the kiosk in the picnic area within the zoo grounds.
Keeper talks and encounters are available daily. Please see website for details, or posters at the zoo when you arrive.
Tickets are restricted each day to ensure we can comfortably accommodate everyone around the zoo.
Please do not come to the zoo if you are suffering from any symptoms of the coronavirus.

How we are keeping you safe

  • We have limited numbers of tickets sold each day. We are selling tickets in advance to make sure we can restrict numbers within the zoo. We will regularly review ticket numbers and release more tickets when we feel it’s safe to do so, and post updates on our social media and website.
  • Tickets can be bought online before you arrive. Feel free to check the day you are wanting to come to see if you can purchase tickets. Simply show us the tickets on your smart phone, or you can print your tickets off. We cannot sell tickets at the kiosk – this will be reviewed regularly.
  • The Zoo snack kiosk will be open daily from 10:30AM - 3:30PM daily, selling cold drinks, hot drinks, packaged snacks and a range of gifts, which will all be on display.
  • We are accepting card payments and cash payments within the zoo. If possible, please use a card payment method if you are wishing to pay for anything.
  • Picnic areas have been spaced out. The picnic areas and seating are regularly cleaned throughout the day.
  • The wallaby walkthrough and the Discovery Room are open each day – please check posters for times when you arrive.
  • Additional hand sanitiser stations have been provided. Please use these to regularly sanitise your hands and wash your hands regularly.
  • Toilets are open and will be regularly cleaned throughout the day.
  • Reminders to not touch glass windows and stand-off barriers are provided to reduce cross contamination.
  • First aiders are still available and have been updated with COVID measures to ensure staff and guest safety.
  • We appreciate that the Northumberland weather can be changeable. Please bring an umbrella so that you don’t get caught out in case of rain.
