Introduction

The Government have published new guidance for colleges in line with their Living with COVID-19 plan.

Here at Sunderland College, in line with this new guidance, we are advising from 1st April 2022:

16-18 Students information

  • If you are feeling unwell and have a high temperature you should stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
  • You can return to college if you no longer have a high temperature and are well enough to attend.
  • If you attend college but are obviously ill, staff will work with Front of House colleagues to assist learners to return home and parents of 16-18 learners will be informed to arrange collection from college.
  • For young people aged 18 and under who test positive for COVID the advice is to stay off college for 3 days.

Adult Students information

  • If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection and have a high temperature or feel unwell, you should try to stay at home and not come into college until you feel well enough to resume normal activities and you no longer have a high temperature.
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious.

All students information

  • All students must report their absence by calling 0300 770 8000.
  • Home testing kits are no longer recommended for any staff or students. In addition, the walk in and drive through COVID testing centres are also being gradually removed.
