Northumberland College Level 4 Engineering apprentice, Hamish Carroll, has been named national runner up at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards.
Hamish, representing manufacturing firm Tharsus, was recognised as one of the manufacturing industry’s rising stars at a glittering ceremony held in Canary Wharf, London.
This award has been developed to reward business or commercial apprentices who have shown potential and seized the training and development opportunities given to them so far.
Collecting his award, Hamish said:
“I’m incredibly proud to have been named national runner up in the Make UK Awards. It’s an amazing achievement and it would not have been possible without the support of Northumberland College, Tharsus and my family.”
Kris Archer, Skills Coach in Engineering, added:
“Hamish is a rising star within the engineering sector and this award proves that. He is an asset to both Northumberland College and his company and we are excited to follow him on his journey with us.”
