Two Northumberland College plastering students recently took part in a Regional SkillBuild competition held at York College.
Apprentice plasterer Kieran Dyson and full time student Kyle Burton competed against hopefuls from across the North.
Competitors were tested not only on their technical abilities, but also on their time management, character and commitment.
Lecturer David Hanncock said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for both students to showcase their skills against some of the best plastering students in the UK.
“The competitions help them to build their own confidence, self-esteem and life skills.
Full-time student Kyle has since gained employment for Northumberland Homes Ltd after his tutor told them about his abilities as a plasterer and his entry into the completion.
