Equine student Talitha has reached the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) national finals after an amazing performance in the regional qualifiers.
Talitha, who is studying Level 2 Equine Care at Kirkley Hall Campus was selected by Washington RDA to represent Tyne and Wear in the competition at the Pegasus Riding Centre in Morpeth where she placed second.
The teenager will now travel to Hartpury College in July where she will compete against the country’s best disabled riders in a range of disciplines.
Equine Lecturer, Judith McCowie, said: “We are delighted that Talitha has qualified for the national championships. She has shown a huge improvement in her horse handling and riding skills, and her confidence has increased.
“We wish her the best of luck for the competition in July – it is a testament to her determination that she has come so far.”
